Andrew was born into a family rich in cycling pedigree, his grandfather, father and brother all raced competitively and represented their country at International level. Their talent and passion for the sport rubbed off on Andrew who represented Ireland at junior, U-23 and elite level whilst also racing with notably teams such as VC Roubaix and the Sean Kelly cycling team.
When it became apparent that a career in professional cycling might elude him, Andrew was keen to stay involved in the sport. He studied Law in University College Dublin before taking the New York State Bar Exam and completing a Diploma in Arbitration. In 2007, he began working for Deloitte, one of the world’s leading financial institutions. He spent 3 years with Deloitte where he qualified as a registered tax consultant. It was during this time that he founded Azzurri Sports Management (2008). This company was set up on a part-time basis to provide cyclists with expert legal advice in both contract negotiations and dispute resolution.
In 2010, Andrew moved to London to work for the prestigious law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. He acquired invaluable experience in this role, which included a 6 month secondment for the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games (LOCOG). In late 2012, equipped with the necessary work experience and an impressive resume, Andrew decided to move into the representation space full time and Trinity Sports Management was born.
Since its inception, the company has grown to be one of the top sports agencies in the world of elite professional cycling. Andrew’s work ethic continues to play a role in the company’s growth, this and his knowledge and passion for the sport are the driving forces behind Trinity Sports Managements success.
